Moments before a mother-to-be is about deliver her baby, there is a flurry of activity in preparation of the big moment. Often, there are a lot of people in the room to offer a helping hand including someone on-hand to take pictures of the new arrival. Luckily, photographer [Kathy Rosario][1] is in her element as she captures each magical moment along the difficult but highly rewarding journey to motherhood during labor. She has already chronicled five births. Her latest captures a water birth. “The mother in the story and I strongly believe that this needs to be shown to the world just to show other women that home water-births can be done safely,” says Rosario. The photographer found the atmosphere to be very calm with a scent of lavender in the room. The mom’s two other children, aged four and two, were also present during the delivery to create a place of quiet and peaceful relaxation. Here is a series of images documenting from the contractions to the new mom breastfeeding her new addition. [1]: http://kathyrosario.com/
