Therapy animals have proven to bring a great source of calm, comfort, and lift the spirits for people in need. Usually, the job is expected to be carried out by canines. For the last 20 years, however, the [Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses][1] have been making their rounds in hospitals, nursing homes, and survivors of traumatic and violent events such as the Sandy Hook shooting victims. The miniature horses are calm and have been known to automatically sense which person is in need of their love the most. The not-for-profit organization based in Florida has been so successful that they now have offices in New York, California, and Greece. [1]: http://www.horse-therapy.org/
