Abu Dhabi is a place that’s regularly treated to skorching sunshine and skyrocketing temperatures, so a building that protects itself from sunlight in heat actually makes a lot of sense. These stunning twin office buildings shield themselves from sunlight in the most unusual way, and the resulting effect is totally amazing. The design was created by Aedas Architects, and inspired by the mashrabiya — a type of sunscreen that shields many windows in Arab homes from the bright and unrelenting sun.
