If you traveled 100 feet below the streets of London, you’ll find something you probably wouldn’t expect. In a space that was originally built as a bomb shelter in World War II, the world’s first subterranean farm is not only growing, it’s thriving. It’s called Growing Underground, and it’s the brainchild of entrepreneurs Richard Ballard and Steven Dring. The produce on the farm is being used to supply local restaurants, and the entire thing is an incredibly interesting and innovative operation. See photos of this unlikely green space below.
