In 2013, a group of friends wanted to capture images of the Grand Canyon from the sky. They made a 3D printed case for their GoPro camera, a Sony Camcorder and a Samsung Galaxy phone, and attached it to a weather balloon. The camera got as high as 98,000 feet but when the balloon popped it crashed back to earth. Unfortunately, the group could not find their equipment since signal was lost when it landed. Ironically, the devices were only 50 miles away from its initial launch location. Two years later an AT&T employee was hiking in the desert when she found the gear. After identifying the SIM car, the friends received their lost footage and data. Here is what they saw.
