Climbing trees is as synonymous with childhood as riding a bicycle. The feeling of getting higher and higher as you climb is exhilarating; the reward for reaching the top is a great view. British Royal College of Art graduates Thor ter Kulve and Robert McIntyre took that feeling to design and construct a staircase that can attach to tree trunks for easy climbing. The [Canopy Stair][1] has made tree-climbing as easy as possible and requires no tools to attach. The materials consist of lightweight rope, handrail, a case aluminum tripod frame, and a ratchet strap for fastening to the trunks. Despite all the components, it was carefully designed to not damage the trees. The designers came up with the idea when they were in Azores, Portugal. The stayed at a house with a tall stone wall that cut off most of the view near the seashore. They were only able to see the sunset by climbing a tree in the garden.
