Mikaila Ulmer was only four years old when she became an entrepreneur. It all began when her family urged her to enter the Austin Lemonade Day competition. Mikaila borrowed a recipe from her granny’s Helen 1940 cookbook to make her now famous BeeSweet Lemonade using flaxseed and honey. The little girl was terrified of bees after getting stung. She turned a negative and turned it into a positive when she began learning all there was to know about bees and their importance to both the environment and our survival. The 11-year-old made bees and her lemonade her passion. She now champions the survival of bees and donates part of her proceeds to save the bee population.
