A seamstress named Lillian Weber has been busy sewing dresses every day for the charity Little Dresses for Africa since 2011. She’s made more than 840 dresses so far, and has a goal to make 1,000 of them before she turns 100 years old on May 6th. Ms. Weber starts a dress in the morning and is finished by the afternoon. Even though she’s fast at making the dresses, she personalizes each one with careful stitch work. She hopes the little girls can take pride in their new garments. Little Dresses for Africa distributes the dresses to orphanages, schools, and churches in 47 countries in Africa. To date the organization has received over 2.5 million dresses.
