We have all, at one point or another in our lives, turned to our zodiac sign for direction or inspiration. It is the hope that our birth month and its relation to mysterious forces in the cosmos will somehow guide us to better decision-making or on some level, help us look into our future. One artist, however, does not turn to the twelve signs to provide guidance but rather to further his brilliant but twisted art. [Damon Hellanbrand][1] has reimagined all 12 zodiac signs as nightmarish and horrifying monsters. Based in the United States, Hellanbrand began his love of art by mimicking the work of Walt Disney. Hellandrand has abandoned all fairytale-like depictions of the zodiac signs. Aquarius is a particularly grotesque, alien-looking octopus creature while Libra is depicted as having an axe-shaped, eyeless head and eight limbs. The artistic renderings are intended to produce a visceral reaction. Given Hellanbrand’s incredible perspective, we may want to think twice before looking up our sign.
