When Babbette Jaquish passed away following a long battle with cancer, she left behind a husband and two adoring children. For four years before her death, though, she had made a special request: Start growing field of sunflowers, sell the seeds, and use the proceeds to help other cancer patients. Now, in the wake of her passing, Don Jaquish and his children have done just that. He says that the sunflowers perfectly capture his wife’s disposition and personality. “She’s always loved flowers, but sunflowers were her favorite,” Jacquish said in an interview. “They fit her personality. She’d walk into a room and her smile would light up the whole room.”
