It’s the country that brought us the Autobahn, and as such it’s no surprise that Germany would be the first to open a bicycle superhighway. The road will be for bikes and bikes alone — no cars, no traffic, and most importantly, no danger to cyclists. The photos below are the first 5km of a 100km bicycle highway that will connect 10 cities in Germany, several of them university town. The road runs alongside retired railroad tracks, and the scenery along the bicycle superhighway is absolutely gorgeous. See some of the photos of this amazing new cyclists’ roadway below.
