The humor of this video is just as great as the story behind it: For years, the uploader’s father tried in vain to keep his bird feeder safe from the squirrels. Squirrels are known for going through hell and high water to get to bird seed, and it makes the actual birds they’re intended for steer clear. Dear old dad was clever, but his contraptions never successfully kept the squirrels from infiltrating. Since his dad passed away, the uploader of this video decided to pay tribute and make a squirrel deterrence system of his own. The video below is the product of those efforts. In the end, he wasn’t able to keep the squirrels away with his obstacle course — but as you’ll see at in the last shot of the video, he ultimately found another, much more effective way.
