We all confront challenges in our lives, and some of them are more difficult than others. While we can’t control everything that comes our way, we can take solace in the fact that most of the time, we are happy, loved, and healthy. But what happens when your own body betrays you and you can’t count on health to create your happiness anymore? Is it still possible to find a smile when everything feels like it’s out of your control? Well, that’s exactly what happened to a woman named Krystal Miller, and she’s proven that it’s possible to transcend the stress your body might foist upon you and live a normal, happy life anyways. Diagnosed with an incurable disease at a young age, Miller has been trying to redefine her new normal ever since. Her story is inspiring, and the message she has for those going through the same thing is absolutely amazing. But she also deals with something that most of us couldn’t, a disease that is up front and center each and every day of her life.

The disease is incurable, and attacks the functionality of the intestines and stomach. It causes all kinds of issues, most of which are bathroom-related and no fun to deal with.

“When I first got diagnosed, I was really uncomfortable. If someone went to the bathroom after me I wanted to cry because I was so embarrassed.”

In some severe cases of Crohn’s, a large part of the intestine is removed and a permanent colostomy bag is affixed to the body.

Realizing there was no way to hide the disease, she decided she just wasn’t going to try. She began calling herself “Bag Lady Mama,” and sharing her tribulations on social media.

Krystal documents the ups and downs of her life with Crohn’s, as well as the everyday moments that are just slightly different than everyone else’s.

Krystal wants to show other people, especially moms, that they don’t have to sacrifice their happiness for the disease.

Krystal says he loves her for who she is, and that her disease doesn’t factor into his feelings for her.

“No one sees the that we deal with everyday. We’re allowed to be angry. It’s not always easy, but that’s okay.”

“We can still be sexy. There will be bad days. But those are the times when we have to get back up and keep going. Because the good days are worth it.”
