Leonard Cohen’s classic song “Hallelujah,” in its many incarnations, is enough to bring chills down your spine. The chorus is instantly recognizable, but there’s something about this woman’s version that’s a little extra special. With her son by her side, Shannon Christensen Abbott created her own take on the melancholy classic. It starts out quite similarly to Cohen’s, but if you listen to her lyrics, you’ll realize that Abbott’s version focuses on a topic that’s quite different from whatever it was that Cohen was *actually* talking about (the original lyrics are some of the most confusing in music history). We won’t spoil it, but we will say this: Moms who know the struggle of taking care of an infant will definitely appreciate this.
