A team of Swedish athletes by the name of *Team Peak* were in Ecuador competing in the Adventure Racing World Championship, a race that combines continuous hiking, trekking, mountain biking, and kayaking. When they stopped for a food break before their 20-mile trek through the rainforest, team member Mikael Lindnord noticed a stray dog sitting nearby. He felt bad for the dog, so he fed him a meatball. As they continued the race, the dog followed them.
