They say you should never judge a book by its cover, and in this case, you shouldn’t judge a dog by its fur. When this little pup named Lisa arrived at a shelter in California, volunteers worried that she might not be adopted: After all, she was kind of strange-looking. It wasn’t entirely natural, either: Lisa had scars on her face and inflamed eyelids from the abuse and neglect she suffered before.
