Lisa Aldrich visited her local supermarket to purchase a birthday cake for her sister. She picked up a blank cake, then asked the bakery worker to write “Happy Birthday Mandy” on top for her. Aldrich didn’t realize that by doing so, she’d receive a lesson in patience and kindness — or that she’d be inspiring the rest of the world to consider kindness as well. Aldrich wrote about the incident on her Facebook page, and the outcome of this simple interaction is truly moving. It just goes to show you how important it is to treat others as you would want to be treated — especially since you never know what someone else is going through.
