Not too long ago there was a story about “Freya, the world’s loneliest shelter dog” that hoped to be adopted and taken into a new loving home. When that didn’t happen after 6 long years, director Michael Bay, (yes THAT Michael Bay!) read about the story and took it upon himself to help the furry pup out by giving her a role on the new “Transformers: The Last Knight” movie. But that’s not the end of the story. With a face so sweet, it’s hard to believe no one snatched Freya and took her to a new home. But this poor, loving pup was stuck in the Freshfields Animal Rescue Centre for 6 years. But her lucky strike was right around the corner.

They tried every trick in the book to get people to find it in their heart to adopt Freya, who suffered from epilepsy. Despite hearing of hundreds of heartwarming stories where people adopt blind dogs, and cats with broken hips, no one came to Freya’s rescue. Until one day, director Michael Bay run across her story.

Not only was Michael Bay touched by her sad story, he also managed to get her a role on his new Transformers movie.

The famous director posted on twitter a message that clearly shows his softer side: “Found this in the news last week in the UK. We gave the Loneliest Dog, a role in Transformers,”

He continued, “Freya has epilepsy and has been in a shelter her whole 6 year life. We are also going to find her a home. If not she will come to my house. Welcome to the cast Freya!”

Freya is no longer the loneliest dog in the world. Not only have her caretakers taken great care of her, but now she gets to star in 2017’s most anticipated action movie.

No one’s spilling the beans on Freya’s role in the movie, so you’ll have to wait until it premieres to find out more. But her caretakers don’t really care as long as her story gets exposure.

Now everyone knows her story and whatever exposure they can get her, the better. They’re focusing on finding this adorable girl a new home.

The folks at Freshfields Animal Rescue are loving the fact that now Freya’s story will finally lead to finding her a new home. They were surprised, to say the least, when Michael Bay’s office contacted them to have her star in the movie.

The Animal Rescue center spokespeople also said, “This came as an added bonus alongside the fact that we have people currently getting to know her with a view to offering a permanent home which has always been our main priority.”

It doesn’t matter who she ends up with, we’re sure Freya’s waiting days are over. She’ll be found by a new family sooner than later, and will go on to finally become the world’s happiest shelter dog.
