There are songs that the moment they are played on the radio they stay in your head for days. The catchy tune will bring you great joy remembering the lyrics as well as frustration when you are unable to stop singing. The song “Mickey,” was Toni Basil’s one hit wonder when it was released in 1982. The performer grew up in Las Vegas and had recorded previous singles before but it wasn’t until the lyrics of, “Oh Mickey you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind. Hey Mickey, hey Mickey,” hit the airwaves that she got any recognition. Although she released two more albums afterwards, Basil never got the same reception as she did with her previous song. Nonetheless, the woman has been busy as a dancer, actress, choreographer, and director, working with A-listers along the way. The 72-year-old has no plans of slowing down. She credits her love of dancing as her fountain of youth.
