It’s been nearly 14 years since September 11, 2001, but most Americans – and much of the world, for that matter – remember the tragic event like it was yesterday. Four years after the Twin Towers fell, One World Trade Center was constructed in memoriam. Though many thought the memorial might be in poor taste, the resulting building is incredibly beautiful and peaceful, and is a thought-provoking addition to the NYC skyline. Now, One World Trade Center has hit another milestone: The opening of the One World Trade Observatory. To celebrate the opening of this part of the building, EarthCam has put together a timelapse video of the building, compiled from photos taken from October 2004 (end of construction), to Memorial Day 2015.
