For the last ten years, Beth Moon has been photographing some of the world’s [oldest trees,][1] many of which are located in South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. Moon followed a guide across these treacherous terrains to find these trees, which were often located in places that were completely isolated from the outside world. Now, Beth Moon has done it again – **only this time, she did it at night.** The areas where these trees are located are completely pitch black, so when Beth went during daylight hours, she marked their presence with a series of small rocks. Then, she headed back out with her guide and a flashlight to find them at night. The resulting photos are otherworldly – or at least look like something from outer space. Moon named each of the photos according: Every tree is named after the constellation pictured in the background. [1]: http://www.lifebuzz.com/ancient-trees/
