Now that half of his presidential term is over, President Donald Trump has made the call for cooperation within the political parties. On Thursday, Trump declared that it was time to put an end to the fighting over special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation.

President Trump publicly encouraged the Democrats and Republicans to put their arguments about Mueller’s report aside. He also urged them both to “come together for the good of the American people.”

In a tweet posted by President Trump, he wrote: “After two years of hard work and each party trying their best to make the other party look as bad as possible, it’s time to get back to business.” He continued by saying: “No more costly & time consuming investigations. Lets do Immigration (Border), Infrastructure, much lower drug prices & much more – and do it now!”

According to Mueller’s report, which took two years to write and cost more than $30 million, produced one major finding: “The investigation did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.”

White House lawyer Emmet Flood wrote a letter to Attorney General William Barr, in which he argued that Mueller’s report only made “political statements” on Trump and Russia. According to CNBC, this gives more fuel to the suspicions that the investigation was only based on a political agenda, rather than a legal one.

Even though Mueller’s investigations didn’t reveal evidence that Trump colluded with Russia, Democratic lawmakers have completely refused to accept the findings of the report. They have now made the argument that Attorney General Barr lacks credibility and he can’t be trusted.

According to New Jersey senator and presidential candidate Cory Booker, who spoke on Wednesday about Barr, “He [Barr] has burned through any credibility he had in that role, and he should resign.” Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee from Texas said that Attorney General Barr and “his supervisor, the president of the United States” have shown “the American people this is not a democracy.”

In an opinion piece for Fox News, Tucker Carlson wrote: “The Russia story cannot die” because “CNN, The Washington Post, the Democratic Party, [and] many others have too much invested in that story.” He continued by saying: “The fact it’s been proven to be untrue is irrelevant to them.”

However, President Trump is over all of the drama being produced by the Democrats and Republicans. In a tweet, President Trump wrote: “The Mueller Report strongly stated that there was No Collusion with Russia.”
