In the movies, the handsome, dusty protagonist is seen walking solo down a desert road, thinking about his lady or his gun or his sworn enemy. Just when he hit peak introspection, a single tumbleweed rolls by to remind him (and the viewer) that life is always a lonely road, no matter how you spend it. In reality, though, tumbleweeds are much less introspective and much more entertaining. There are also usually more of them. This video was taken on a road in Midland, Texas, where dozens of tumbleweeds block the drivers’ passage. Watching them in action is highly amusing – think of them as nature’s ball pit.
