In addition to its unusual name, it might be one of the strangest places in the world to live: Over half of its 2,000 residents live underground. The reason for this subterranean existence? The summer temperatures are too harsh for people to withstand. At that time of year, the temps soar to a whopping 104 degrees Farenheit, and water is in short supply.
