[Joe Fenton][1] has such a wild imagination that many of his works of art are frightening to look at. It leaves one wondering where he is able to pull such visceral and highly imaginative works of art from and what the creatures from his nightmares look like. The London-based artist admits to being influenced by surrealism, European Baroque, Middle Eastern architecture and Eastern philosophy; quite the eclectic mix. However, the effect of these influences allow Fenton to produce drawings that are haunting but alluring. One cannot help but feel somewhat uncomfortable when studying the intricate detail while also being drawn into the piece to learn more about and understand his vision. Here is a journey of one of his drawings that seem innocent enough at first but moves in to a complicated, enchanting world. What is even more fascinating is that Fenton is using a simple pencil.
