Thousands of plastic bottles, bags, toys and debris end up in our oceans: marine life such as seals, whales, and turtles among other animals mistake the waste as food or get caught in it. [Washed Ashore][1], a non-for-profit organization has collected tons of trash and turned it into art. Angela Haseltine Pozzi is the artist leading the project: sculptures made up entirely of garbage come to life as a penguin, coral reef, and shark. When one sees the large structures, it is hard to ignore the damage being done to our oceans, something that is completely preventable. The Oregon-based group hopes people will get involved in saving our waters and in turn sea life. [1]: http://washedashore.org/
