The leatherback sea turtle, also know as the lute or leathery turtle, is the largest of all modern turtles and is the fourth-heaviest reptile behind three crocodilians. To put it simply, this one is absolutely massive. That’s probably what makes this leatherback sea turtle’s return to the sea so incredible to watch. Released from a conservation group in Samuel Brown Town Beach in Grand Bassa, Liberia, this big turtle slowly but surely makes her way back to the ocean — and you’re going to be cheering her on the whole way there.
