College students often have pretty difficult schedules. In fact, that’s part of the steep learning curve of college: Sure, there are parties to go to, friends to make, and dorms to outfit with cute accessories, but at the core of the college experience is studying — and lots of it. College students put themselves through the ringer to earn their degrees, and some programs are simply far more challenging than others. This UK student is in an architecture program at Nottingham University, and she’s going viral for a fascinating (and slightly disturbing) reason. Every day for a month before her exams, she took a selfie. It starts off innocently enough, but then you realize that as time passes, her face becomes like a shell of its former self, the side effects of studying for too hard, too long, and not getting enough sleep. The last photo is the most telling of them all, and when you see it, you’re going to want to hug all of the college students in your life. It’s not easy, but somehow, they’re doing it. See this student’s story below.

“The thing they don’t tell you going into architecture school is that you will be crushed to the absolute smallest version of yourself,” she said in an interview with student newspaper The Tab. “For months I felt my happy personality whittle down to a laptop-slaving robot who would cry at least once a week.”

**”So naturally, like the selfie addict I am, I documented my sleepless journey to the finish line.”** You can see that journey in its entirety in the video below.
