Seventeen-year-old Cashel Gardner suffers from Spinal Muscular Atrophy, a genetic disorder which paralyzes muscles and causes them to weaken over time. Cashel can’t move, eat, or even breathe on his own. He uses a digital voice synthesizer to speak. While being able to only use one finger, he wrote this inspirational message for people around the world to hear.
