It’s one thing to hear a good singer and another to hear a good song. Unfortunately, it is only in very few cases that you’re able to have both. Similarly, once a star hits it big, we see them trail downwards. It’s a tough thing to outshine yourself. But pop sensation Kelly Clarkson, the first person to ever be crowned on *American Idol*, is in a league all on her own. She stole our hearts when she sung ‘A Moment Like This’ back in 2002 and she’s done it all over again with her live performance of ‘Piece by Piece’ off her 2015 album of the same name. If you’ve ever had your heart broken, completely lost your faith in love — romantic, platonic, or familial — and met someone who restored it, then this song is for you. Having been raised by a single mother, this song had me breaking at the exact same moments as Clarkson, who co-wrote the song with Greg Kurstin based on real-life experiences. Just a warning: you won’t be ready for how much this song will move you.
