Unless you’re from there, chances are that you know very little about New Hampshire, but there are so many interesting facts so absorb. The state motto is John Stark’s “Live Free or Die,” and the area is also home to many firsts: the first free public library in the country, the first modern American ski club, and the first American alarm clock (created by Levi Hutchins, who reportedly set it for one time and one time alone, at 4:00 AM as a personal wake up call). New Hampshire is also home to Mount Washington, which reportedly has the “World’s Worst Weather.” Here you can find “bitter cold, freezing fog, heavy snow and the fastest wind ever observed by man.” Check out the video below featuring Weather Observers Mike Dorfman and Tom Padham on the Mount Washington observation deck, enjoying winds 100+ mph. If you live in an area with plenty of sunshine, embrace it, because not everyone gets the same amount!
