Washington based photographer Chip Phillips got an old Pentax Spotmatic film SLR camera from his dad back in 2006. He was immediately hooked on photography and shortly after transitioned to digital. His images have been published in *National Geographic*, *Outdoor Photographer,* *Popular Photography and Imaging*, and many others. Of all the areas he’s traveled to, Phillips says, “ *The Palouse always takes my breath away, especially when the light is very good. The region can be very peaceful. I find that most of the time I am the only one photographing, especially in the lesser known areas, which is magical.*” The Palouse region is located in southeastern Washington and is accessed by driving a few hours from Seattle, Washington or Portland, Oregon, and from the looks of these stunning photographs, it’s worth the travel.
