At first glance this cafe is like any other… you can order coffee, soda, tea, light snacks, wifi, and magazines. But there’s one thing that makes this one very different. This cafe is full of felines. Customers pay hourly to hang out with the cats, and petting is encouraged. In Japan, these types of cafes are called neko cafes. Neko is the Japanese word for cat. In Tokyo, there are about 70 of these types of cafes. The trend is also growing to other parts of the world; there are cat cafes in London, Shanghai, Beijing, St. Petersburg, Munich, and Paris.
